Noted writer Shantadevi dead [India]:
DHARWAD: Noted Kannada writer Shantadevi Malawad died at her house at Kalyan Nagar at 4.30 AM on Sunday. She was 82.

Shantadevi Malwad was the president of All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana held in Bagalkot in 2000. She was also the president of North Karnataka Women Writers' Association. She was suffering from backache for four months. She had written 44 valuable books.
