Poet Samuel Wagan Watson [Australia]:

When Indigenous writer Samuel Wagan Watson recently won the NSW Premier's Literary Award, he was the first Aboriginal poet to do so.

Samuel Wagan Watson was born in Brisbane in 1972 of Irish, German and Aboriginal (Bundjalung and Birri Gubba) ancestory. [...]
