The lyrical Democrat [US]:
Under water grottos, caverns

Filled with apes

That eat figs.

Stepping on the figs

That the apes

Eat, they crunch.

The apes howl, bare

Their fangs, dance,

Tumble in the

Rushing water,

Musty, wet pelts

Glistening in the blue.

Oy, that's a lousy trick. I dislike Obama fairly intensely, but almost no one deserves to have their teenage poetry brought to light.

Yes, very true. A lousy trick. But I like him more for it.

In general, though, yeah. Think of all the bad yearbook rhymes, all the horrible love poetry sent off in letters, all the awful song lyrics made up by kids with guitars. And now with internet scrawls to worry about, think of the funny things that will emerge for politicians to be embarrassed about in 2040 or so. But I wouldn't vote for someone who _didn't_ write embarrassing things as a youth.
