First Book Interviews
Rhett Iseman Trull:
"I don't think it's necessary for the majority of poems in a manuscript to be taken before the poet sends it out. I think if you’ve had at least 10 of the poems published by good journals, that's enough to make a strong first impression. When it comes to getting published--individual poems or a manuscript--there's no magic formula to it, and you have to remember that there are many fantastic poems and manuscripts out there circulating in the same places yours are. It's a waste of energy to sweat over it."
