Andrew Motion in conversation with psychoanalyst Denis Flynn [UK]:
Poet Laureate Andrew Motion will talk to psychoanalyst Denis Flynn about private thoughts and public expression. Why do we articulate personal ideas for the scrutiny of others? Do psychoanalysis and modern poetry share a paradoxical need to share the personal with a kind of public?
Andrew Motion has been a professor of English, editor of Poetry Review and editorial director at Chatto & Windus. He now teaches creative writing at Royal Holloway, University of London. He was appointed Poet Laureate in 1999.
